Firmly established as valued and much used local amenities; Kino Hawkhurst and Kino Rye are community cinemas with a difference.  Equipped with state-of-the-art digital high definition projection and sound equipment to ensure the highest quality viewing experience, both cinemas are also architectural gems that truly enhance their respective communities.

Kino Hawkhurst is open daily from 9.00am with films showing from 10.00am, while. Kino Rye is open from 12 noon Monday to Friday, with films showing from early afternoon and from 10.30am at weekends; with Kids’ Club screenings at around 11.00am.

Kino’s programme includes the latest blockbusters, kids’ movies, foreign-language films, documentaries and prestigious live events broadcast via satellite.  Kino Hawkhurst has 91 seats; while the two cinemas at Kino Rye are Red with 96 seats, and Blue with 48 seats.

Kino’s stylish café-bar, lounge and sunny outside terraces are not just popular with film-goers but also with locals who just want to meet friends and enjoy the excellent range of food and drink on offer; much of which is supplied by local producers – including, of course, Goupie.   Kino’s cinemas are also fully licensed, so customers can enjoy a glass of wine or beer in the comfort of their seat.

The standard film programme is enhanced by special screenings.  Kino Arthouse provides selection of the best foreign language and art-house films.  As well as a Kids’ Club, there is Kino Babes, with the first film on the first Friday of each month during term-time is shown for the benefit of parents with babes in arms.

Every Tuesday, Kino offers a very popular two tickets for the price of one offer, and there is also a Rye Market Day Special, with all tickets £6.75 for screenings started at or before 5pm on a Thursday at Kino Rye.

Other services include Kino gift vouchers that can be redeemed at either venue. Finally, for that party, event or meeting with a difference, Kino Hawkhurst and the Red, Blue and Silver rooms at Kino Rye can all be hired on an exclusive basis.  The Silver room at Rye offers flexible seating for a film screening, small performance, drinks reception, presentation or meeting.   There is even an option of a private bar with a tempting range of food and drink menus.
