Reuse our Dip & Dab Tins!

One of the main reasons we chose to package our Dips & Dabs and Hot Chocolates in tins is that tin is infinitely recyclable, and the pots are also super easy to reuse around the house. We want to be creating products which not only taste good, but keep giving well after they've been finished! This is why we offer refills for our hot chocolate tins, and provide regular blog posts to help you Rethink Waste.

Here's a few of our favourite ways to reuse your tins at home:

Use them as spice pots.

This is a a super easy one. All it requires is pulling off the label and giving them a quick wash. You can then easily fill them with spices from your local zero waste shop. You can label them by writing directly on the tin with a marker or chalk pen, or use a label.

Make them into a candle.

This option is a little more involved, but very satisfying! All you need to do is melt down soy wax pellets, or the remains of your existing candles in a bain marie. You can also add scent at this point, which you can find online or in most craft stores, alongside your wicks. Once the wax is completely melted, use a little to secure the wicks to the bottom of your tins.

You can then pour the mixture into the tins, and any empty candle jars you may have. Cut a strip of cardboard and poke a hole in the middle. You can then lay this over the top of your candle, and poke the wick trough the hole to keep it in place whist the wax cools.

Reuse as mini plant pots

You're gonna need some pretty tiny plants and containers for this, but they are around! We used some mini cacti we found, but you could also use cuttings from plants around the house! All it involves is popping the container with the plant directly in the pot! This way, you'll collect any excess water in the bottom, and stop it from ruining your surfaces.

There are simply loads of uses for these nifty little pots, use them to keep your spare change, tampons or safety pins. You can even redecorate them as we've done above by using new labels, yarn or fabric. It's super easy and all it requires is a hot glue gun and some scraps!
