The Gog - Featured Retailer October 2017

It seemed only fitting that our October's featured retailer be The Gog Farm Shop, in Cambridge, after they won the prestigious Great Taste Shop of the Year this September. Established in 1919, the Gog has a reputation for it's rustic charm, quality produce and fantastic customer service. Indeed, they've consistently won multiple awards over the years including: Farm Shop & Deli Awards, Business Excellence Awards and Observer Food Monthly Awards.

The site itself consists of a large barn-style cafe, a farm shop, a butchers and an affectionately named 'shack'. This sees punters spending upwards of 3 hours on site after a long walk or cycle ride to enjoy the Gog Magog kitchen delights.

These home-baked treats are also available in the Farm Shop & Deli alongside a wide range of French cheeses, local produce, craft beers, and of course, Goupie! Though the shop itself may be small, they certainly pack in the goodies, giving customers a wide range of well chosen bits. They are in fact, one of our most restrained customers, ordering just four carefully selected flavours - but boy do they get through them! Clearly they have a great understanding of what their customers are looking for.

The Gog is especially good at promoting their good taste via their social media platforms. For anyone with the good fortune to follow them on Instagram, you will see a plethora of mouth-watering images coming your way alongside friendly employee images and customer photos - truly embodying the ethos of the company.

Anyone who knows Goupie well, will know that we love a family story. The Gog certainly ticks this box, with a wonderful conception story following the Bradford family from 1919 all the way to the present day, over 4 generations. We don't think that we could do any better of a job telling the story then the Gog themselves, and so we'll leave you with the link to their website so that you can find out more!
