Get creative with your pancake toppings

Pancake day is coming up so we've been getting creative in the Goupie test kitchen.

There's nothing wrong with the classics- lemon and sugar, golden syrup, chocolate spread -but it's good to have a little fun with your pancake toppings. So here are our Goupie-inspired suggestions:

Smores pancakes:

Create the perfectly sweet, ooey-gooey treat with toasted biscuit, squishy marshmallows, and melted chocolate. Simply top your pancakes with flaked chocolate, mini marshmallows, and a sprinkle of toasted biscuit crumbs and let the heat do all the magic.

You will need:

Dark chocolate and hazelnut pancakes:

Get dreamy and indulgent with our rich 70% chocolate and whole toasted hazelnuts for a grown-up take on old-school nutella. Simply coat your pancake in flaked chocolate and as many hazelnuts (chopped or whole) as you like.

Sweet and spicy pancakes:

Try something different with a unique, crunchy combo. Pairing the firey, chewy punch of crystallised ginger with the crunch and sweetness of chocolate coated honeycomb, your pancake will be one to remember.

You will need:

Citrus twist pancakes:

Take the classic lemon and sugar and turn it on its head by using chocolate covered candied peel. Adding an irresistible chew and rich chocolatey goodness, a little chopped up citrus treat will go a long way. For extra indulgence, add in a little flaked orange chocolate for good measure.

You will need:

Salted chocolate almond pancakes:

Sweet, sophisticated, and lightly salted, these unique pancakes are a delight. The delicate Maldon salt flakes cut through the deliciously smooth chocolate whilst the flaked almonds add a light crunch and creamy nuttiness.

You will need:

Something savoury:

For those who like something more savoury, try a sprinkle of pumpkin seeds or walnuts over the top of some plain yogurt, a little cheese, or a whole bunch of nooch.
