Rocky 'Horror' Road

Ingredients

  • 100g Margarine

  • 200g Chocolate

  • 3tbsp Golden Syrup

  • 200g Crushed Biscuit

  • 100g Marshmallow

  • 100g of any sweets, fruits or chocolates you have!

It's that time of year again, and we all know Halloween is intrinsically linked to treats! Here's our super easy rocky road recipe, perfect for using up bits and bobs from the cupboards.

Method

  1. Melt the margarine, chocolate and syrup in a pan over a low/medium heat.
  2. Once melted, add the crushed biscuit and marshmallow. A good way of crushing biscuit is my rolling over them with a rolling pin on a board.
  3. Now you can get creative! Feel free to add any and all sweets/chocolates/dried fruits you have lying around. The best thing about Rocky Road is being able to use up what you have to hand.

We used a combination of Candy Kittens, Halloween Percy Pigs (the vegan variety) and Conscious Candy. You could use cranberries, raisins, dates, white chocolate, bits of Goupie, leftover cake frosting, the possibilities are endless! It's perfect for the run up, and just after, Halloween when the house is full of all sorts of sweets and treats. Not only does it use up leftover goodies, and means that every batch is different, but it also adds to the 'horror' feel by essentially creating a sweet graveyard! Win, win, win!
